Following an eventful year, the year 2025 is about to bring abundant joy to the van Niekerk household.
This comes after the Olympic gold medallist Wayde van Niekerk and his wife Chesney revealed that they are pregnant.
The news of the pregnancy comes in the form of an indirect announcement. This after the pair recently attended a wedding over the weekend. Taking to Instagram, they shared pictures of themselves posing on the special day.
In the picture, Chesney is seen wearing a black laced dress designed by South African fashion designer Elmerane, while showing off her baby bump. Accompanying her was her husband Wayde who wore a classic black suit looking as in love as ever.

Meanwhile, their followers rushed to the comment section to share congratulatory messages toward the couple. “Love it! The bump, you guys man, blessings,” commented one user.
Another added: “Congratulations! Pregnancy looks good on you.”
Among those in the comments were Layla Kolbe, Rachel Kolisi as well as Wayde’s mother Odessa Swarts who all complimented the soon-to-be mother of two on how beautiful she looked.
This will be the van Niekerk’s second child. The two are also proud parents to Elijah who was born in November 2021 while the couple lived in Orlando Florida in the United States.

While 2024 was quite a challenging year for Wayde following his performance at the 2024 Paris Olympic Games, 2025 promises to bring lots of love and excitement.
