Claire Mawisa and Malik Yoba spark dating rumours

The internet went into a frenzy after a video of media personality Claire Mawisa and American actor Malik Yoba surfaced and was shared by the actor sparking dating rumours between the two celebrities.

Malik, a father to three kids has been in the country for the Johannesburg film festival and got to link up with the mother of one, Claire.

According to ZiMoja, Claire shared that their first meet-up was at the Kaya959 offices but the pair never got to speak.

“He came to the Kaya FM building as one of the producers had booked him for an interview. We never spoke and nobody introduced us. He was explaining to somebody that he saw somebody in South Africa with dreadlocks, really beautiful. The girl was like, ‘Is it Claire? And he was like ‘I don’t know. Then she googled my face, [and asked] ‘Is this her?’ And he’s like ‘Oh my goodness, that’s her, added the former SABC1 presenter.

The publication also added that the lady told Malik that Claire was on Twitter now X, telling Malik that he could hit her up there. This was the beginning of their friendship. “

The Why Did I Get Married cast member is rumoured to be divorced from his actress wife Cat Wilson.

In honour of International Women’s Day, the American actor shared a video post of the two of them. The video is a combination of events they attended together looking cosy, he paired the video with an appreciation post addressed to the Xhosa beauty which read:

“In honour of #InternationalWomens Day and #WomensHistoryMonth, I’d like to salute one of my favourite humans on the planet Cape Town’s very own Claire Mawisa, a trailblazer, intellectual, social impact warrior, Xhosa Woman, mother, daughter, aunt, public figure and friend of the past 11 years. Thank you so much for capturing those moments of us in Johannesburg and all your support during @joburg_film_festival love you to the moon and back mama!”
