When it comes to death, the unexpectedness of everything often has the biggest impact on us as people, even when our loved one was sick before passing away. Popular DJ and sangoma Tumie Motsoeneng, more popularly known as Gogo Skhotheni, together with her estranged husband Monde Shange know exactly what this pain feels like as they recently announced the tragic passing of their son, Monde Junior.

In a statement posted on her social media, the media personality confirmed the passing of her two-year-old son, who was born without an oesophagus and had been ill throughout his short life, spending the majority of it in the ICU.

“It is with profound sadness that the Motsoeneg and Shange families confirm the passing of Monde Jr Shange…The families kindly request privacy as they navigate this deep and painful loss. We ask for your understanding and compassion in giving them the space they need during this difficult time of grieving,” the statement reads.

Upon making the announcement, many fellow celebrities and public figures expressed their condolences to Gogo Skhotheni and her family throughout this difficult time, popular influencer Cindy Makhathini being among these people.

After Monde Jr’s funeral took place and a few videos of Gogo Skhotheni at the funeral made rounds, the influencer took to her social media to express how heartbroken the situation has made her. She stated how she sympathises with the pain and hurt that Gogo Skhotheni is currently experiencing.

“I thought I had problems but people are going through the most out here… It is sad! And to think that there are people on social media who are speaking rubbish about her while she’s going through that. It’s crazy business,” an emotional Cindy Makhathini said.
