Miss South Africa 2024 contestant Chidimma Adetshina has had a deep reflection on her time in the competition while hoping to claim the crown.
Her reflection came on the same weekend that the current title holder, Mia Le Roux, marked her one year anniversary since being crowned Miss South Africa.
In a recent post, the organisation, which recently postponed their annual grand finale that often takes place during Women’s Month, shared a video reminiscing the iconic night.
Captioning their post, they wrote: “Happy Crowniversary Mia Le Roux”.

In a post of her own, the current Miss Universe Nigeria title holder, Chidimma has since reflected on what her time competing in the South African pageant was like.
The mother of one was caught in controversy after it was brought to light that she and neither of her parents were of South African descent. This later led to social media backlash, as well as an investigation into her origins which resulted in the Department of Home Affairs revealing that her mother had committed identity fraud to obtain citizenship.
She withdrew from competing in the pageant, but the continuous trolling on social media platforms has certainly left its mark on her psyche.
In a post shared on her Instagram story, she wrote: “Last year this time my dreams were shattered in front of my eyes but I am grateful for this journey.”
Meanwhile, the news publication, The South African, reports that the relationship between her and the Miss Universe Nigeria organisation is no longer what it used to be.
It is reported that Chidimma both unfollowed the organisation and revealed that she would not be attending the pageant, as she recently sided with contestant Nyekachi Douglas who was asked to withdraw from the competition due to new eligibility rules.
