Chef Lentswe’s memorial and funeral arrangements

Celebrity chef, Chef Lentswe’s memorial and funeral details have been announced by his family through his social media platforms.

His family announced his passing in a media statement released on Wednesday, March 1st. Chef Lentswe died on Tuesday, February 28th, after a brief illness.

The family has stated that the public is welcome to attend any of the services and they will be live-streamed. Stream links will be shared as soon as possible.

  • Memorial Service (JHB) will be held on Monday, 6 March at Every Nation Church Rosebank from 13:00.
  • Memorial Service (DBN) will be held on Tuesday, 7 March at Durban High School from 16:00 hosted by DHS Old boys.
  • Memorial Service (DBN) will be held on Tuesday, 7 March at The Playhouse Company from 17:00 and hosted by friends and industry colleagues.
  • Funeral Service will be held at Amazimtoti Civic Centre Hall on Wednesday, 8 March from 10:30.

“We have received an outpouring of condolences shared by friends, industry colleagues and corporate partners, both local and international. Thank you for sharing in the sentiment of how warmly Lentswe touched all of us,” said the Bhengu family.

Lentswe starred in and presented multiple TV shows, including US-commissioned series Africa on a Plate and local shows KFC Taste Kitchen. He co-hosted the BBC Lifestyle show The Great South African Bake Off and Flava Queens. He was also on Mzansi Magic’s Celebrity Mystery Box.
