Despite being banned from entering international sports events, things to seem to be going pretty well for middle-distance runner Caster Semenya.

She had banned from participating from international sports events by a ruling made by the Court of Arbitration for Sport. She is no longer allowed to participate unless she takes medication to reduce her testostorone levels. Despite all this, Caster recently welcomed a new baby into their family and is set to release her memoir, the Race to be Myself,  to be released this year.

The Race to be Myself will detail Caster’s dramatic journey from a gifted and self-trained novice to the height of her sports career and gives readers insight to the internal and external battles she faced trying to run with the body she had been given.

The book is published by a New York based, and of the oldest and largest book publishers, Norton & Company.

On Social Media, the Olympic Gold medalist revealed the cover for her memoir, and announced that the book will be available for pre-order.

The book will be published on 31 October 2023, and will be released simultaneosly in the US, UK, and South Africa.”It is my hope that by finally telling my truth, I will inspire others to be bold, unafraid and most importantly to love and accept themselves as they are,” the famous athlete said.

“Through my example, I want to educate, enlighten, and inform about how the world can welcome those born different. You may have heard some of my stories over the years, and you might have seen me running or standing proudly on the podium at the Olympics. But there is still so much I need to relate about strength, courage, love, resilience,” she states, further adding that she wishes her memoir has the power to show people around the world how to do that.
