Cassper Nyovest Responds to Black Coffee Calling Him the ‘GOAT’

Bloemfontein was buzzing on Saturday, December 6, as 30,500 fans packed Toyota Stadium to witness Cassper Nyovest’s latest Fill Up concerta spectacle proving yet again that local South African talent can command stadiums without international headliners.

The show didn’t just make headlines for its scale; it caught the attention of music icon Black Coffee, who took to X (formerly Twitter) afterward to declare Nyovest the “GOAT,” a term of ultimate respect in the music world.

Actually saw this tweet in a blog. I wasn’t aware cause I don’t use Twitter no more. Just came on here to acknowledge that this means a lot to me. You’re an inspiration GROOTMAN laka!!! Danko !! https://t.co/vpVff6Lfee

For Nyovest, the praise was a pleasant surprise. Having stepped away from social media, he only discovered Black Coffee’s shoutout through a blog post.

“Actually, I saw this tweet in a blog. I wasn’t aware because I don’t use Twitter anymore. Just came on here to acknowledge that this means a lot to me. You’re an inspiration, GROOTMAN Laka!!! Danko!!” Nyovest shared.

The rapper also took to Instagram to personally thank the army of people behind the scenes who made the concert possibleorganisers, sponsors, dancers, photographers, sound engineers, security teams, stylists, vendors, cooks, PR and marketing teams, and most importantly, his fans.

“30,500 people in attendance without a new album, a gimmick or a publicity stunt. Just hard work and brand trust! I am grateful,” he wrote.
“I have so many highlights and will share them in the coming days. I love you, and I am overwhelmed by your support. The big question is, SHOULD WE DO THIS AGAIN? If yes, WHERE?”

Fill Up: More Than a Concert, a Cultural Movement

Cassper Nyovest’s Fill Up series isn’t just a set of concertsit’s a statement. The initiative was born from Nyovest’s vision to challenge the long-held belief that South African artists cannot draw massive crowds without international acts.

Over the years, Fill Up has become a cultural phenomenon, inspiring both young artists and fans while proving the global potential of local music. Each event celebrates homegrown talent, community pride, and the undeniable power of South African music to unite thousands under one roof.

The success in Bloemfontein adds another feather to Nyovest’s cap, and the recognition from Black Coffeea global DJ with his own legendary careeris a nod not just to Nyovest’s talent but to the impact of South African artists on the world stage.

As social media buzzed with clips and fan reactions, many praised the rapper’s ability to connect with audiences purely through his music and presence. For Cassper, the Fill Up journey continues to redefine what it means to be a South African superstar.
