From Combat Boots to Crown: Lt Col Camelia Grobler Becomes Mrs Curve SA 2025

A soldier, a mother, a leader, now a queen

In a celebration that merged discipline with elegance, Lieutenant Colonel Camelia Grobler has been crowned Mrs Curve South Africa 2025, proving that strength and grace can coexist in the most inspiring ways.

Known for her distinguished career as a Human Resource Developer in the South African Army, Grobler has long been a champion of women’s empowerment, youth education, and child safety initiatives. Her dedication to serving others extends far beyond the barracks, touching communities across South Africa.

Beyond the Stage: A Journey of Impact

Grobler’s pageantry journey began last year when she earned her place as a Top 24 Finalist for Mrs South Africa. That experience, she says, reshaped her view of pageants from mere contests of beauty to powerful platforms for personal growth, leadership, and community advocacy.

“Pageantry is about more than appearances; it’s about making an impact and inspiring others to shine,” Grobler said.

Balancing the structured life of a soldier with the poise required of a pageant queen, Grobler exemplifies the modern South African woman—capable, confident, and compassionate. She gracefully juggles her roles as a military officer, model, wife, and mother, proving that excellence need not be confined to one sphere of life.

A Crown With a Mission

As Mrs Curve South Africa, Grobler is preparing to represent her country on the global stage at the Mrs Curve Globe competition in Palm Springs, California, next June. Her reign is more than ceremonial; it’s a platform to amplify voices, boost women’s self-confidence, and advocate for social change.

“I hope to use this platform to shed light on important issues and advocate for the betterment of society,” she added.

Social media and community reactions have been overwhelmingly positive, celebrating Grobler as a role model who demonstrates that discipline and compassion can coexist. Many young women have shared messages of admiration, highlighting how her journey underscores the idea that one can serve their country, lead in their communities, and still embrace personal passions.

A New Icon for South African Women

Lieutenant Colonel Grobler’s victory represents more than a personal achievement. It’s a reminder that leadership comes in many forms and that platforms like pageantry can be leveraged for meaningful impact. From combat boots to her dazzling crown, Grobler’s story resonates as a testament to the strength, versatility, and resilience of South African women.

As she prepares for the international stage, all eyes will be on Grobler—not just for her elegance, but for her unwavering commitment to making a difference.
