Burna Boy’s tribute to AKA backfires

Tweeps and fans of AKA are not happy with the tribute song Burna Boy shared on his Instagram story, many calling it unnecessary.

“The song Burna Boy made for AKA is so unnecessary, he should’ve just kept quiet man.” -says Shaun Keys on Twitter.

The song talks about how Burna Boy advised AKA to own a gun to protect himself and how even though they didn’t get along, they are still brothers.

This Afrobeats star was once close friends with the late slain rapper AKA and even they put out a hit song together called “all eyes on me” which has 7,7 million views on YouTube.

According to ENCA, the feud between the two stars began when Nigerian musician Burna Boy caused a stir on social media after saying he would boycott the country because his fellow Nigerians were being treated badly. He then tagged local rapper AKA in a series of tweets, telling him to beef up his security.

However, the late rapper AKA shared on an interview of The Episode that, he had no beef with Burna Boy but they don’t have to be best friends.

Some if not most fans are infuriated by the tribute song and they shared:

@Olamide0fficial shared on Twitter: “That Burna Boy’s tribute to AKA is unnecessary. We all watched the video of that incident & we saw how fast everything happened. It’s a sad and painful death and it could happen to anyone. Sometimes you can’t even be too careful. May we not fall victim of bad circumstances.”

@Solphendukaa wrote: “Ayi that burna boy story is weird on Insta”

@Noktoola wrote: “Nothing weird, we all knew that they were no longer vibing. Even when Burna was here for DSTV Delicious they didn’t perform together. No need to sugar-coat things just because someone is late, that’s his truth and passed his condolences as he saw fit”
