Popular and much-loved actress Brenda Ngxoli finds herself the current talk of the town as she has taken to social media to reveal that her family situation has reached its boiling point, garnering immense sympathy and financial support from mzansi.

Brenda Ngxoli is one of mzansi’s most talented actresses, as she possesses a unique ability to go above and beyond with any character she has been tasked to play, including her break-out role as Vuyo Radebe in SABC 1’s Home Affairs. One would think that her talent would attract a plethora of roles, however, her strong personality and no-nonsense tolerating nature have led her to be castrated by the media industry, and spend more time away from the limelight.

She has re-emerged into the public eye, under unfortunate circumstances as she attempts to navigate a complicated relationship with her mother. Taking to social media, the actress revealed that she was under much stress, as it was revealed to her that her mother was accusing Brenda of beating her. This is despite Brenda being nowhere near her mother and family home.

Brenda first shared a heartbreaking clip via Instagram of an earlier interaction with her mother, showing the two going back and forth, revealing an extremely toxic relationship between the two.

According to Brenda, Mandisi and a number of her supporters have come together to raise more than R50 000 for Brenda in a matter of a few hours.

The actress returned to her social media to convey her heartfelt gratitude to everyone who not only helped her financially but lent her their ears to listen and vent about this situation which has been going on for some time now in the shadows.

Brenda’s situation has triggered a bigger conversation regarding the rampant abuse that many children have been subjected to, at the hands of their parents. Users empathise deeply with Brenda as they acknowledge that dealing with such a situation is never easy. Other users have revealed that they believe that Brenda’s mother is showing signs of dementia, which explains this kind of behaviour from her.

The Brenda Ngxoli story is sad.

Ugogo is showing signs of dementia.

I took care of my gogo with dementia. She’d swear at me. Accuse me of stealing, of trying to kill her.

It was torture but I understood she was sick because my HEALTHY gogo had been wonderful.

Wish them well?
