The online space and social media have become a breeding ground for some of the world’s most creative human beings, with innovative ideas and comedic skits being accessible with the simple click of a button.
As instant as this may be, not all is considered to be good, as limitless access to content can often lead children to being exposed to things that aren’t necessarily appropriate or good.
This was the stance of several online users following the viral video of a child who was captured impersonating the highly controversial Limpopo rapper Shebeshxt.
The video shows the boy performing to a live crowd while fully dressed as his role model. He can be seen wearing shorts, bare chest, with a backpack and a cap with the front flipped up.

While many found the post to be humorous, others felt that the behaviour should not be encouraged as the rapper was deemed a bad example to the youth.
Shebeshxt’s reckless behaviour has not only seen him get involved in physical altercations during some of his live shows but also led to him losing his daughter, Onthatile, in a car accident last year.
Taking to the comment section, this was what some users had to say:
“Shebeshxt shouldn’t be anyone’s role model,” commented one user. After seeing the video of the boy’s performance, another wrote, “So he’s going to perform where? Exposed to alcohol, drugs and prostitution.”
While others acknowledged that the boy has the charisma to make it as a performer, they believe that finding a better role model is for his own best.
