South African poet Botlhale Boikanyo celebrated Africa Day on 25 May with a beautiful poem that spoke to the hearts of many. She visited Maropeng, the Official Visitor Centre for the Cradle of Humankind, to deliver her message.

Botlhale Boikanyo shares her Africa Day poem
On Instagram, the 2012 winner of South Africa’s Got Talent posted a video shot by filmmaker Bongani Baloyi, featuring visuals for I Sing a Song of Africa, which she called a love letter to home.
In her caption, Botlhale, who won the reality show competition when she was 11, shared with fans, “To celebrate our rhythm, people, innovations and the spirit of Ubuntu that lives within us. A song for the continent that continues to shape the world while carrying generations of stories in its soil.”
She also thanked her hosts at the World Heritage Site for allowing her and the team to bring her poem to life “in a space that holds the very origins of humanity.”

People appreciate Botlhale Boikanyo’s poem
Several members of the online community and familiar figures entered the comment section to applaud Bothlale’s talents.
Content creator Ziyanda Nkunjana wrote, “Would it be Africa Day without a piece from you? Never that.”
After listening to the piece, @feziwe_mbatha confessed, “I have goosebumps.”
@timmy_zweni91 said to the 25-year-old, “You have always been that girl. Forever wena, that was phenomenal.”
“What a masterpiece. We love Africa,” added a thrilled @leena_ndume.
@palesambali995, who enjoyed the poem, commented, “Wow, the amazing poet. Happy Africa Day.”
