‘Black people don’t love themselves,’ says Penuel Mlotshwa

by Bongiwe Mati

YouTube podcaster and TikToker Penuel Mlotshwa is a man popular on social media platforms for his vocal nature about social, political and parenting matters.

When it comes to matters affecting or concerning the country the father of six does not mince his words.

In a recent post shared on his X, an app that was formerly known as Twitter, Penuel who recently visited Johannesburg’s CBD had a lot to say about the state of the city centre.

In a lengthy post on the app, he shared:

“Just drove through the Johannesburg CBD for the first time in a long time. It is extremely filthy & unhygienic.”

He went on to curse politicians saying:

“Fu%k all politicians. Hundreds of millions for campaigning but can’t pick up litter in the main CBD or clean up townships.”

Illegal foreigners were not excluded from the insults as the podcaster continued: “Fu%k all illegal foreigners who come to SA & make it disgustingly dirty, like the homes they come from.”

South Africans who are part of the reason why the Johannesburg CBD is one of the dirtiest city centres in the country also received punches, as he added:

“Fu%k all South Africans who litter, who cannot respect themselves to keep clean environments & who vote for leaders who are responsible for the lack of service delivery.”

At the end of his rant, he finished off by saying that South Africans are their own worst enemy before noting that black people don’t love themselves as living in such filthy conditions is dog behaviour.

He finished off by saying: “Ungaze uqhele ngempela kubantu abamnyama, ubuyise namabhunu ukuthi azophath’ izwe (One might end up disassociating themselves with black people and allowing the white government to take over again).”

Just drove through the Johannesburg CBD for the first time in a long time. It is extremely filthy & unhygienic.

1. Fu%k all politicians. Hundreds of millions for campaigning but can’t pick up litter in the main CBD or clean up townships.

2. F5ck all illegal foreigners who come…

The post attracted many responses from users who also acknowledged the bad state of the CBD, commenting:

I think we need become more self aware because some issues are caused by ourselves. I get so frustrated when someone throws a paper on the floor, I always call this type of behaviour out whether I know you or not, let’s all do the same hawu?

Another user had a plan to get our environment cleaner commenting:

Should start with one social experiment. Everybody calls out each person who litters. I swear it would make a massive change.

One user who lives in the CBD commented:
