Black Brain Pictures secures 30 nominations for Royalty Soapie Awards

With the recent reveal of the Royalty Soapie Awards nominees, Black Brain Pictures is among the leaders in the nominations list with 30 nominations for various soapies.

Black Brain Pictures which is also a brain child of Mandla N is known for productions such as Lockdown, DiepCity, Isitha-The Enemy and recently Isiphetho-Destiny.

Speaking to TshisaLIVE, Nyiko Bilankulu said: “The 30 nominations are a remarkable achievement and a testament to the team’s hard work and dedication to produce exceptional content. Black Brain Pictures has a strong chance of winning in categories where they have multiple nominations as it indicates consistent high-quality work.

“Receiving such a high number of nominations can boost the company’s morale, motivate the team, and acknowledge their contribution to the South African television industry. It’s fantastic recognition of their efforts and a great opportunity to shine at the awards ceremony,” said Nyiko.

Isitha- The Enemy received a nod for Outstanding Make-up and Hairstyling, and for Outstanding Wardrobe together with The Black Door.

DiepCity and Isitha-The Enemy are competing for a win under the category of Outstanding Writing Team. DiepCity, Isitha-The Enemy and Black Door will go head-to-head on the category of Outstanding Casting.

While Chrispen Nyathi has been nominated for a role of Charleston that he played on DiepCity under the category of Supporting Actor. With Mduduzi Mabaso and Lindani Nkosi at loggerheads under the category of Outstanding Villian for roles they portrayed on DiepCity and Isitha-The Enemy.

Linda Sebezo also secured a nomination for the role of Rebecca Mabuza on Isitha-The Enemy under the category of Outstanding Female Villian.

Recently, Black Brain Pictures took to their X (formerly Twitter) page to share the news of the their new film named Piano Love, which will premier on the 23rd of August on Netflix.

The film will star Senzo ‘Kwesta’ Vilakazi, Bontle Modiselle- Moloi, Bheki Sibiya, Peter Mashigo and Given Stuurman.
