Binge-worthy shows South Africans are watching this winter

As winter settles in, there’s no better time to cosy up indoors and dive into the world of binge-worthy shows provided by the American subscription video-on-demand internet streaming service, Netflix.

From thrilling mysteries to keep viewers on the edge of their seats to heartfelt dramas heating the screens across the country.

The streaming service provides viewers with a list of binge-worthy shows this winter with captivating storytelling and unforgettable characters. A mix of popular local productions and international hits:

Savage Beauty: Seasons 1&2 – This is an emotional South African series starring,  Rosemary Zimu, Jesse Suntele, Dumisani Mbebe, and more.  Season 2 is currently sitting at no. 1 in the country.

Supacell: Season 1 – Tosin Cole, Nadine Mills, Eric Kofi-Abrafa, and more star in this gritty and emotional British Sci-Fi series.

The Man with 1000 Kids: Limited Series – An investigative British docuseries.

SPRINT: Season 1 – An inspiring sports and fitness docuseries with the best sprinters navigating training, media scrutiny and fierce competition.

Worst Roommate Ever: Season 2 – An ominous true crime docu-series.

The Mole: Season 2 – An exciting competition show hosted by Ari Shapiro.

How to Ruin Love: The Proposal – A playful How to ruin Christmas spin-off  South African comedy series starring Sivenathi Mabuya, Bohang Moeko, Dumisani Mbebe, and more.

Òlòtūré: The Journey: Season 1 – This is a gritty and emotional Nollywood series starring Sharon Ooja, Omoni Oboli, Beverly Osu and more.

Bridgerton: Season 3 – Nicola Coughlan, Luke Newton, and Claudia Jesse star in this regency-era, romantic, witty and swoon-worthy series.
