Basadi in Music Awards recap: Here’s who won

The fourth edition of the Basadi in Music Awards returned to celebrate and elevate women in the music industry, as well as to honour the brilliance, creativity and power of women’s voices.

The guests were dressed to the nines, embodying the theme of the night: Symphony of Harmony, where they were encouraged to reflect one of the four elemental forces in their fashion expression.

The star-studded award ceremony took place at the Joburg Theatre. Among many who clinched awards are:

Portia Mngomezulu who won the CEO Mosadi in Business Award, Bongi Mlotswa for Trailblazer of the Year, as well as Relebogile Mabotja and Noni Khumalo who received a nod for TV Producer of the year.

Lootlove walked away with Entertainment Radio Presenter of the Year, Mapule Pule won Entertainment Journalist of the Year, while Laconco cliched Podcaster of the Year.

Famous makeup artist Nomsa Madida was awarded for being the Makeup Artist of the Year, while TumeloMj’s Afroboutique was recognised as Hair Stylist of the Year. Moreover, the Music TV Show Presenter of the Year award went to Zanele Potelwa.

Doing things twice as nice was Nontokozo Mkhize who won two awards; Song of the Year and Gospel Artist of the Year.

Former Big Brother Mzansi contestant Liema Pantsi was awarded with SAMRO Songwriter of the Year and Collaboration of the Year with Cici.

Zee Nxumalo walked away with Sofn’free Artist of the Year, while Lekompo musician Shandesh took home the award for Dance Artist of the Year.

Babalwa M was honoured with Amapiano Artist of the Year, and Lamiez Holworthy was awarded for being DJ of the Year.

Songstress Naledi Aphiwe walked away with two awards; CAPASSO Most Streamed Song and Afro-Pop Artist of the Year.

Meanwhile, Bassie – Kwelanga 2.0 received Highest Airplay, Moozlie was awarded for Best Styled Artist of the Year and MadaGlory for Reggae Artist of the Year.
