Actress Baby Cele bids farewell to the SABC1 show Uzalo. The celebrated actress, who has been an integral part of the popular drama since 2017, portrayed the character of Gabisile Mdletshe.

Cele previously took a break from the show in 2021 but returned to her role. However, this time she is departing for good, marking the end of her journey with the series.

In an interview with IOL, Cele expressed her deep connection to the character she has portrayed for many years, stating, “I have played Gabisile for so many years; she became a part of my life, so leaving feels like I have lost a part of me.” Despite the emotional attachment, Cele emphasised that her decision to leave Uzalo was not driven by negative reasons but rather a natural progression. She shared, “It was time.”

Taking to Instagram, the Uzalo team thanked Baby Cele for her extraordinary talent and dedication. Their message conveyed appreciation for her professionalism, work ethic, and warmth, acknowledging her contributions to the success of the series. They wished her the best in her future endeavours, confident that her light will continue to shine brightly.
