It has been a year since the untimely passing of Mandla ‘Mampintsha’ Maphumulo, the husband of Gqom artist Babes Wodumo (Bongekile Simelane).

Mampintsha succumbed to illness on December 23, 2022.

In a poignant tribute, Babes Wodumo recently visited her husband’s grave and shared a heartfelt Instagram post captioned, “Kade ngiyovakashela isoka lam” (I went to visit my husband).

The emotional visit marks a significant milestone in her journey of remembrance and mourning. Together they have a son Hlelolenkosi ‘sponge’ Maphumulo.

The couple got engaged in October 2020, announcing the news with a video on social media of Mampintsha going down on one knee with a ring in his hand.

They celebrated their traditional wedding in 2021, as reported by Timeslive.
