Grief is a rollercoaster journey, one day you are okay, and the next you want to cry your lungs out. You can never be able to control your emotions with it.

It becomes worse on days like birthdays, Valentine’s Day, Mother or Father’s Day because, on these days you get to be reminded that there is a special person in your life that you lost, these days are labelled as triggers.

South African singer-songwriter and choreographer Bongekile Simelane professionally known as Babes Wodumo wrote an appreciation message to her late husband Mampintsha on Valentine’s Day.

Mampintsha (born Mandla Maphumulo) died on the 24th of December 2022 after he suffered stroke.

Taking to Instagram, Babes shared a video with pictures of herself and Mampintsha. In her caption, she wrote,” As young as I was when we met, thank you Father God for allowing me to find my soulmate at such a young age.”

“What a journey it was sthandwa Sam (my love). Today I would love to say thank you babazi for believing in me as Babes Wodumo and most importantly as a wife,” she added.

She concluded her post, “Lapho ukhona (where you are) I assure you that the Maphumulo’s and Simelane are well taken care of [heart emoji]. I love you f*cked up baba ka sponge.”
