Miss South Africa 2022 runner-up Ayanda Thabethe competed in the Miss Supranational 2023 pageant on Friday night in Poland’s Strzelecki Park Amphitheatre.

Thabethe won the title of Miss Congenial, made it to the Top 24 of the pageant’s grand finale, and came in fifth place overall in the #Suprachat2023.

Despite not making it all the way as Miss Supranational 2023, SA’s Miss South Africa runner up congratulated the new Miss Supranational winner Andrea Aguilera of Ecuador, who was crowned the 14th Miss Supranational by outgoing queen Lalela Mswane of South Africa.

“Congratulations to Andrea on her win. I wish her everything of the best during her reign, and I know she’s going to be a wonderful Miss Supranational,” Ayanda said while speaking to Media24.

She continued by thanking everyone who supported her during her journey while speaking to the publication.

“I also want to thank South Africans for their overwhelming support and wonderful messages. I have loved every minute of my Miss Supranational journey, and I hope I have made you all proud.”

The Miss Congeniality also took to Instagram to reflect upon her journey during the Miss Supranational 2023 pageant.

“What an incredible journey it has been! I always say that I put myself in these spaces so that I can grow faster and meet like-minded women with a plan to better the world. And I am happy to say that this experience has done that for me?❤️ I will forever be grateful for the friendships that I have formed during this time, the lessons that I have learnt, and the support that I have received. My heart is so full!”

She continued: “I couldn’t be more proud of the Ayanda that I was allowed the opportunity to show the world, and how she has been received has given me so much confidence. So thank YOU! Yes, you, the one reading this right now! Thank you for your support, your kind words, your interaction with my page, and your unwavering love – trust me the love is mutual❤️.”
