While The Real Housewives of Durban (RHODurban) introduced new faces for the upcoming fourth season, one familiar face is not set to return to our screens.

Mom and businesswoman Annie Mthembu, who joined the Durban-based reality TV series for its first season in 2021, took to social media to share her reasons why she will not be coming back to the show.

Stating that she had an “incredible, life changing experience” on RHODurban (good, bad, and ugly as she admits), Annie shared on Instagram, “It took me from being this shy, introverted girl into being a woman who knows herself and what she stands for.”

Expressing her gratitude, Annie explained that the growth and transition would not have been possible without the production team and cast members – LaConco and Nonku Williams who she feels challenged her, and Sorisha Naidoo, Londie London, Jojo Robinson, Slee Ndlovu and Maria Valaskatzis who she says had her back and taught her how to accept friendship when she was used to being alone.

The businesswoman then shared that she sat the latest season out as she needed a mental health break, some time for reflection as well time to focus on her business.

After wishing her former cast mates the best of luck, Annie also weclomed the new cast members (Ameigh Sibahle Thompson, Nqobile ‘Angel’ Ndlela and Zamaswazi Ngcobo), saying, “[I] hope you are prepared for the next few months and that your debut delivers everything you wanted and more.”

The Real Housewives of Durban season 4 is set to premiere on Showmax on 9 February 2024.
