The renowned media personality and radio host, Anele Mdoda, has found herself smiling extra brightly in 2025, and this time it’s not only because of her career accolades but rather her love life.
Earlier this year, the 947 presenter surprised everyone when she tied the knot in a beautiful wedding ceremony in April this year. Pictures showed the vibrant personality that is Anele dripped in traditional Xhosa attire, which contained elaborate beadwork in honour of her culture.
While a few months have passed since she first uttered the words, “I do”, the mother of one is the first to admit that she has finally found contentment with where her love life is at this moment.
During an interview with close friends Sizwe Dhlomo and comedian Trevor Noah on the What Now with Trevor Noah Podcast, the Oscar nominee reflected on her marriage to Bonelela James, emphasising how well she was being treated.
“I’m spoiled, I’m pampered, it’s so nice. I do nothing which is great… They try to tell us women, you must cook, you must clean, no, none of that. The real marriage is that it’s the man who does everything,” she explained.

Anele added one of the several qualities she admires about her husband is the continuous support that he provides her.
“I’ve literally found my equal, like he is my dude, he’s my guy. I feel so protected and safe, and it’s just that entire thing – also because he is the one person in the world that I don’t have to convince to be on my side. He is automatically on my side.”
Meanwhile, Anele and Bonelela are yet to have their white wedding, which both Trevor and Sizwe are excited to attend.
