Andile Jali became a trending topic after a video surfaced where he was seen with a few friends holding a bottle of what looks like an alcoholic beverage.

Andile, who was married to fitness queen and Diski Diva’s reality tv star Nonhle Ndala, joined Mamelodi Sundowns in 2018 after a successful international soccer career in Belgium.

The soccer legend whose manager is rumoured to be in talks with Orlando Pirates and Kaizer Chiefs for his next soccer home can be heard seen in a video with men in biker gear having a chat. In the video which sounds like the men were talking about bike riding, Andile can be heard saying;

“Uyabona once ndikwazi ulala ikona, uyazi ukuthi kuphelile. Once ndilale, ndiphinde ndivuke, ndiphinde ndilale nazi ukuthi this is history, nindifumana sendinxilile ….” (You see, once I take the corner, you must just know that its finished, once I’m able to take it, get up, take it again then you must know this is history, you’re lucky to get me drunk).”

Many social media users commented saying that his friends do not have his best interest at heart, as posting content in what he called a “drunk state” was not a good career move. Users shared; “Andile Jali‘s friends did him dirty here. But I also think he doesn’t care naye manje, mdala lomuntu (this person is old).

Another user wrote, “This Andile Jali video makes me reflect on the people we call ‘friends’. Even the late Senzo Meyiwa had people around him called ‘best friends’.. BUT look at their testimonies. Abangani bafethu…. (friends thou).”
