UkhoziFM has announced the top 10 chosen songs that will be competing for the 2025 New Year’s crossover title, popularly known as Ingoma Ehlukanisa Unyaka.

The most voted song in the playlist will be played on the radio as the listeners welcome 2026. This year, the Durban-based station introduced a new process of choosing the top 10 songs, where the station sent out 20 songs, and the viewers were tasked to vote for the top 10 songs.

The top 10 songs chosen by the listeners were announced on the afternoon drive show by UkhoziFM broadcaster, Khathide ‘Tshatha’ Ngobe in a special broadcast live at Mojo’s Car Wash and Shisanyama in Chesterville, west of Durban.

Here are the songs competing for 2025:

  • Skillz ft Zee and Sykes – Mamma
  • Sam Deep, Nia Pearl, Boohle, Mano – Shela
  • Zee Nxumalo and Dlala Thukzin- Mali
  • Jazzworkx, Thukuthela – Umawengane
  • Mawhoo ft GL_Ceejay, Thukuthela and Jazzwrld – Bengicela
  • Umafikizolo – Uyoncengwa Unyoko
  • Ciza ft Jazzworx, Thukuthela – Isaka (6am)
  • Sjava – Uyena
  • Order – Professor & Larny
  • DJ Tira, Pcee & Campmasters ft General C’mamane – Awungazi

The voting lines are opened and will close on December 31 at 12h00. For many years, Ukhozi has rolled out the top 10 songs, where each of them plays in a countdown, and the most voted song plays during the crossover of the year.

In 2024, Mthandeni SK’s song which featured Mawhoo titled Gucci drove away with a new VW Polo, after he was voted number one, and had his song ushering listeners into 2025. The winner this year will also drive away with a new VW Polo.
