South African award-winning musician, Amanda Benedicta Antony who is popularly known as Amanda Black has recently set the record straight and refuted the circulating rumours of malicious allegations linking her to rape accusations against a fellow musician, Sjava.

Her clarification left many of Sjava’s fans relieved especially after his legal battle of the same nature with his ex-lover, Lady Zamar.

This comes after this shocking rumour spread like wildfire on social media platforms, prompting internet users to take sides and share their opinions on the matter.

According to IOL, the rumour stems from a tweet that resurfaced allegedly from an account bearing her name, in the tweet it is alleged that the AmaZulu hitmaker claimed that Sjava, born Jabulani Hadebe had raped her.

Former Idols SA star took to her Instagram page to refute the shocking allegations in a short and straight-forward post and said: “Sjava did not sexually assault me. I have no idea where these rumours from, but they are not true and did not come from me.

X (formerly Twitter) users weighed in on the matter.

@joy_zelda said: “Amanda Black breaks down on stage while Performing thinking of how Sjava raped her.”

Another X user said: “I wouldn’t be shocked if this whole Amanda Black, Sjava rumour was started by Lady Zamar.”

While another one said: “Whenever Sjava’s career is taking off all of a sudden these bloggers and celebrities are accusing our brother for rape and I think record labels are involved in this bruuh.”

In 2019, Musician Yamikani Banda popularly known as Lady Zamar accused Sjava of raping her in 2017. This led to a severe backlash against Sjava and affected his career and public image negatively. However, in 2020 the National Prosecuting  Authority (NPA) dismissed the case due to a lack of evidence.
