‘All these amapiano artists are my kids,’ says DJ Maphorisa

Popular amapiano producer DJ Maphorisa hopped on a live video recently, claiming that current amapiano artists are his kids, as he is the one who taught them how to make the music genre lucrative.

This is not the first time the Izolo hitmaker has called out artists, a few weeks back he told artists that when someone comes to work in his studio, using his electricity and eating his food, he takes ownership of the masters to whatever music the person has made.

Going live while inside a car, the multi-award-winning muso said:

“Actually, all these people who are speaking negative things about me, swearing at me, pushing piano, they are my kids. They are under me; they were taught by me in order to survive and put food on the table.”

He went on to add that he wasn’t referring to artists such as Kabza and others who are piano bosses but talking about those who came in the game after him.

Reiterating his words he said, “You’re my kids, all of you guys that are pushing amapiano, unfortunately. Even if you move forward and sign deals with others, they will tell you that this man (referring to himself) has said this and that about you, what do you say?”

Many felt that this was in reference to amapiano singer Sir Thrill who recently shared that there’s a certain amapiano producer that has been blocking his songs from being released.

Maphorisa finished off saying that he had change the whole amapiano game adding that those who believed the negative things said about him are also fools.

One user added:

Maybe we can safely call him a dictator of Amapiano. It’s better if he keeps quite because the more he tries to explain himself, it’s the more he exposes his wickedness.
