by Sergio Miller

While it may be two years since the passing of Hip-Hop rapper, AKA, the amount of impact that he has on this world lingers on today.

The passing of Kiernan Forbes has shocked the entire music industry, as many took to social media platforms expressing disbelief at his brutal killing. Moreover, many later flocked to both the memorial service as well as the private funeral ceremony, paying their last respects to the Don’t Forget to Pray hitmaker.

Recently, the funeral parlour responsible for assisting the Forbes family with arranging an unbelievable send-off was honoured with an epic award at this year’s inaugural Funeral Business Awards ceremony.

The event, which is sponsored by the renowned financial services group First National Bank (FNB), was held the event at Durban’s International Convention Centre, where it looked to give recognition to some of our country’s most outstanding funeral parlours for their outstanding service over the years.

Among those was Broodie Funeral Parlour, which was responsible for the funerals of both the late Kiernan Forbes as well as former Minister of Finance Tito Mboweni.
