AKA, A-Reece fanbases clash over A-Reece’s exclusion from Mass Country

AKA and A-Reece’s fanbases (The Megacy and The Slimes, respectively) got into an online debate about A-Reece being excluded from AKA’s final album Mass Country.

In February, SA Hip Hop Mag reported that fans blamed A-Reece for acting like a “superstar” after claiming that he delayed his verse for a song with the late rapper. These claims were squashed by producer and DJ Malefactor. The deejay stated that the finished product was received on the day of AKA’s passing, and that the late rapper did not spend much time talking about the verse. Hence, it was not added to the album.

On 31 July, Tkay provided proof of A-Reece’s verse, also showing that the verse was meant for the song Sponono which features Sjava. “I know The Boy ain’t never gonna talk about it…. And nobody from AKA’s camp reached out for the stems.. check the date.”

Despite the reasons stated above, one of A-Reece’s fans took to Twitter to share their opinion on A-Reece’s exclusion as well as the album itself. They wrote, “imagine saying A-Reece had a whack verse when the album was full [of] whack verses from the guy who made it himself.”

This tweet did not sit well with The Megacy, who then shared their own opinions about A-Reece.

“Don’t disrespect Supermega bruh! Mega is bigger than Reece,” said one fan defending AKA.

Referring to A-Reece’s time with record label Ambitiouz Entertainment, another AKA fan said, “Last time you had a hit was during ambitious Era.”

The Slimes came to A-Reece’s defence too.
