Award-winning actress Gcina Mkhize, known for her roles on Isibaya and e.TV’s Imbewu: The Seed, is involved in a shocking legal battle with businessman Dzivhu Tevin Mashila, who she claims has illegally purchased her home and is tormenting her with relentless harassment.
According to ZiMOJA, Dzivhu has presented documents, reviewed by ZiMOJA, showing that he legally purchased the house from Nedbank in October 2023. As a result of that, Gcina has been experiencing sleepless nights due to alleged intruders on her property forcing her to move out.
The publication mentioned above further states that Dzivhu has accused actress Gcina of using delay tactics to avoid eviction from the house. He also sought help from Operation Dudula without success.
Speaking to The South African, Dzivhu denied being an intruder, asserting that he is the property’s legitimate owner. He stated that the mansion was auctioned in Johannesburg on the 3rd of October 2023, after the actress Gcina allegedly failed to keep up with her payments. Dzivhu was the highest bidder, paying R700 000 for the mansion plus over R200 000 in additional costs. The property’s lodgement was completed on 22 January 2024 by BVZ Attorneys, and Gcina was informed of the lodgement only after it was finalised.
Speaking with ZiMOJA, Gcina revealed that she and her children have faced ongoing harassment since January. She has reported the situation to the Mondeor Police multiple times but says their intimidation continues to escalate without intervention. The actress suspects that a larger syndicate may be involved in illegally selling homes.
Gcina expressed ongoing fear and frustration to the mentioned publication, saying, “The matter is still under investigation, but he wants me to vacate my home as in yesterday. Where will I go with my kids.”
