Former The Queen actor Xolani Mayekiso’s alleged rape charges were dropped at Pretoria Magistrates Court last month.

These allegations came after a woman took to X (formerly Twitter) to expose the actor on what she details as the day she was raped.

With the case withdrawn, Gauteng police spokesperson, Colonel Mavela Masondo spoke to hub ZiMoja confirming that usually a rape case is usually withdrawn when insufficient evidence is produced to the court.

He says, “I can confirm that a case of attempted rape was opened last year at the Pretoria West police station and the suspect appeared in court last month where the case was withdrawn, as there was not enough evidence.”

The woman who goes by the name Becoming Shika on X told the information hub that because the case is still under investigation, she could not provide further details.

She wrote on a post on X that, “I’m not able to talk about the case as I have instructions not to, because there’s also a protection order, I was attacked for no good reason by a lying, sickening man. Never kissed him. Didn’t even know his name until I had to Google him the next day at the court office. I said no. I said stop. What more should women do?”

Although X users defended the actor they questioned the woman’s integrity.

Another user commented:

The allegations might be true but what ruined it for the victim is that she got into a strangers car because it was RAINING
