South African gospel group Abathandwa claims that Ayanda Ncwane allegedly swindled them.
Abathandwa opened up about their issues with the music exec, despite parting ways.
The group alleges that they haven’t received any royalties from their smash hit Umoya Wam. According to The South African, Percy Nyoka, leader of the group, stated that they had only received a plaque from Ncwane Communications.
Despite the single being released six years ago, Umoya Wam remains one of the greatest South African gospel hits. The popular track was featured on their debut album, Ehhe moya wam, and went multi-platinum, but the group has yet to receive anything from it besides the plaque.
As of writing, Ayanda Ncwane has yet to address the rumours that have thrust her into becoming a top trending topic. The South African reports that despite being under Ncwane Commutations for years, there was allegedly no contract between the company and the gospel group.
Abathandwa was originally under the leadership of Sifiso Ncwane however, following his death, the group quickly found themselves under the watch of Ayanda Ncwane.
When trying to strike up a conversation with regards to the royalties, it reportedly always ended up in a dispute between the group and Ncwane.
Percy also revealed that their fallout came from unpaid royalties and other management issues. The group has tried to remain silent in response to their mistreatment, but have since come forward stating that they feel betrayed and used by Ayanda Ncwane.
Under the new management of Dondolo Music Productions, the group has rebranded as Abatandwa Musical Group and is now under the guidance of Sina Kwepile.
