2Baba and Wife Ignite Social Media After Explosive Instagram Live Argument

by Zaghrah Anthony

From Music to Mayhem: 2Baba’s Instagram Live Sparks Outcry

Nigerian music legend Innocent “2Baba” Idibia and his new wife, Natasha Irobosa Osawaru, have found themselves at the centre of a social media storm after a heated argument aired live on Instagram earlier this week.

The Live session, hosted by radio personality Daddy Freeze, was intended to let 2Baba address a prior viral video of his arrest in the UK. Also present were his former associates, Kaka Igbokwe and Lori Tosan, but the discussion quickly devolved into an explosive domestic spat.

When the Spotlight Turns Personal

Viewers witnessed 2Baba repeatedly telling his wife to “shut the f*** up,” while Osawaru tried to wrestle the phone from him, insisting, “Innocent, they should see us together.” The other participants looked on in shock as the argument spiralled out of control, overshadowing the original intent of the broadcast.

The cause of the dispute remains unclear, but social media quickly exploded with commentary. Nigerian netizens shared a mix of shock, disappointment, and humor over the public display:

  • @acebangztattoo: “Like we all predicted this happening and it’s playing out right in front of us. This is sad mehn 😢.”

  • @tipsyadebukola: “At your old age! You still dey get relationship drama! Shameless thing! You never see anything.”

  • @nwamaka.ndego: “I thought they say men go where they find peace. Peace of mind wan wound Tuface😂. From African Queen to African warrior 😂😂.”

Politics Meets Personal Life

The situation took on a political dimension as Osawaru is also a lawmaker with the Peoples Democratic Party, representing Egor Constituency. Following the Live incident, the Edo State House of Assembly summoned her to explain her actions, citing “behaviour capable of embarrassing the House.”

Speaker Blessing Agbebaku emphasized the seriousness of the matter, stating, “This conduct drags the name of the House into the mud… the attitude of our member has brought this House to disrepute, and we will not tolerate it.” Osawaru is expected to appear before the House Committee on Ethics and Privileges within a week.

A Lesson in Public Life

While 2Baba’s fans continue to dissect the video for drama and entertainment, the incident underscores the blurred lines between celebrity, politics, and private life in Nigeria. It serves as a stark reminder that public figures are under constant scrutiny, and personal conflicts can quickly have national attention and professional consequences.

For 2Baba, a veteran musician known for hits like African Queen, and his wife, a public servant, this Instagram Live clash has sparked an unexpected convergence of music, social media, and politics—a reminder that sometimes the personal is always public.
