Unathi Nkayi recently dazzled as the host of Basadi in Music Women Awards which took place at the Joburg Theatre on 12 August.
The award winning songstress, radio and TV presenter who is also amazing at MC’ing shared her excitement as the music awards were about to air on SABC2 last night.
Unathi shared two different posts on the awards broadcasting subject.
She first shared first a post of the different outfits she wore most made by close friend and designer Asanda Madyibi, some made by designer Gavin Rajah and beadwork from Nondumiso Qba Nkosi of @originalbedoo.
She captioned her first post:
“I’ve hosted the biggest events in the country including the SAMAs four times and Mandela’s Cultural and Arts day at FNB stadium and many more. BUT I have never sobbed as much I did before and after the Basadi Awards in ALL my life. Only having time for ONE rehearsal I was overwhelmed by the incredible show produced and simply didn’t want to disappoint ALL the incredible women who pour their hearts out on that stage. TONIGHT you will get to enjoy one of the most magnetic and MAGESTIC experiences in music on SABC 2. What a show ladies I am TRULY PROUD to be amongst all of you @basadiinmusicawards_sa, CAMAGU.”

After the show aired the Mother’s Love Song hitmaker follower with a thank you post made of snippets of the highlights of the event and captioned it:
