Beans and beef stew

Ingredients
- 2 tablespoons (30ml) SPAR Sunflower Oil
- 1kg beef, cubed
- 1 SPAR Freshline Onion, chopped
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 2 tablespoons SPAR Tomato Paste
- 2 SPAR Beef Stock Cubes
- 2 cups (500ml) water
- 1 large SPAR Freshline Sweet Potato, cubed
- 2 large SPAR Freshline Butternut, cut into thick cubes
- 1 can (400g) SPAR Baked Beans or 2 Cups (500g) of SPAR Red Speckled Sugar Beans (Boiled until soft)
- 4 tablespoons SPAR Brown Onion Soup
Instructions
- Heat oil in a large saucepan and brown meat for 2–3 minutes on each side; remove from the pan.
- Fry onions and garlic until soft in the same pan.
- Add the meat, tomato paste, stock cubes and water. Cover with a lid and cook for 1 hour 20 minutes.
- Add vegetables and beans.
- Mix water and soup together, add to the stew and cook for a further 5–10 minutes.
- Serve with SPAR Parboiled Rice.
