“Why is she in the gown like SHE had the baby?” When I saw some of these comments after @gabunion and @dwyanewade released their initial photos after the birth of their daughter via surrogate, I was heartbroken. For her. For my sisters in this fight. For those who felt a personal stab when they saw these comments from friends and family who didn’t know they were actually hitting THEM. So this is a conversation we NEED to hear, and share. This Saturday, December 8 at 8:00pm @owntv will air an all-new special entitled, “Oprah at Home with Gabrielle Union, Dwyane Wade & Their New Baby”. Host a watch-party. Invite a friend to view with you. Let’s continue to break these stigmas, by keeping the conversation going. #OprahAndGabrielle #TheBrokenBrownEgg #Infertility #AfricanAmericanInfertility #AfricanAmericanSurrogacy #Surrogacy ————————————————– Sunday, December 9, the interview will air on OWN’s “SuperSoul Sunday” and will stream on Oprah’s Facebook at 11:00 a.m. ET/PT. In addition, the interview will be available on ‘Oprah’s SuperSoul Conversations’ podcast beginning Monday, December 10 with part two available on Wednesday, December 12.

“Life is what happens when you are busy making plans.” If this ain’t the truth. When life doesn’t care about your perfectly planned out version of what you think your journey through this world is supposed to look like. Life belly laughed at my plan. Life did not care what people would say. Life had other things in store for me and our family. Figuring out how to let go of the idea of what motherhood should look and feel like, what a mother even is… that was a challenge. We share our story, our journey Saturday Dec 8th at 8pm on OWN with @Oprah
