WATCH: Pearl Thusi and her daughter drop a dance challenge for Mshoza’s new song

by Ayanda Sithole
Pearl Thusi sets the Mshoza #ayinachorus challenge

Pearl Thusi and her gorgeous daughter have got us dusting off our dancing shoes so that we can participate in their adorable #AyinaChorus dance challenge

It looks like both Pearl and her teenage daughter, Thandolwethu, are big fans of Mshoza’s new song, Ayina Chorus. To assist in promoting the song (whether deliberately or inadvertently), Pearl has recruited those closest to her to partake in the song’s social media dance challenge.

If you are unfamiliar with how challenges work on social media: somebody usually kicks off the trend (these days it’s not uncommon for musicians to be the ones to start the challenge after dropping a song – see Drake’s #InMyFeelings challenge for reference). Once you’ve practiced your moves, you record your own version of the challenge, before uploading it to social media.

The #AyinaChorusChallenge is one of the most recent South African dance challenges and Pearl Thusi has led the way in showing us how to get down to Mshoza’s latest hit

The Behind the Story presenter took to social media to share this cute video of her with her daughter and perhaps I’m a little biased because they both look so happy, but it’s safe to say they nailed it!

In case you never heard the song before (like me til I saw Pearl’s TL), I gotcha! Listen below, it’s got a catchy tune. #AyinaChorusChallenge pic.twitter.com/E1wtLfRiCd
