While we are sad to see Ashes to Ashes go, we cannot wait to see what e.tv’s new telenovela make a debut on next week on 10 August. The show promises to be educational and entertaining – having us at the edge of our seats with all the drama. It will be an interesting tale of issues affecting the South African working class. Be sure to see love dynamics, financial dilemmas, family feuds and corruption, all set on the backdrop of the mining industry.
THE JUICE
The telenovela will be great. It has an interesting mix of cast members. Mbongeni Ngema plays Patrick, an ageing and ill miner who has two wives. First wife Ruth, played by Clementine Mosimane, uses muthi to protect herself from Patrick’s second wife, May, played by Tina Jaxa. Ruth believes May is a spiteful, vicious snake that could strike her anytime. She uses the muthi to protect herself from May’s perceived evil intentions.
THE CAST
The telenovela will give us the opportunity to see our favourite actors back in action – it has been a while since we saw some of the famous faces on the screen. Apart from that, it will be a refreshing take, with a flavour of old school cinematography and storytelling.
