Lupita Nyong’o kicked off the #BrownSkinGirlChallenge after posting a video of herself dancing to Beyoncé‘s song of the same title. The song is an ode to brown skin girls and has a shout-out to Lupita, Naomi Campbell and Kelly Rowland. The song is featured on Bey’s The Lion King-inspired album, The Gift.

Lupita’s video started the challenge which has since gone viral with women celebrating their brown skin.
