Janet Jackson is set to receive the Global Icon Award at this year’s MTV European Music Awards. The star will perform a medley of her greatest hits at the awards. The awards announced the exciting news on social media.

“Janet is without question one of the world’s biggest stars. “Her incredible artistry has opened doors for countless others while leaving an indelible impact on pop culture – well over three decades and counting. We’re thrilled to honour her as this year’s MTV Global Icon” Bruce Gillmer, global head of music and talent, Viacom and co-brand head, MTV International, said in a statement.
The awards will take place on 4 November in Bolboa, Spain.
