Tom Holland Takes Precautionary Break After Minor Spider-Man Injury

by Zaghrah Anthony

Fans Rally Around Star After Set Accident

Tom Holland, beloved worldwide for his role as Spider-Man, is taking a brief pause from filming Spider-Man: Brand New Day after sustaining a mild concussion on set. The actor, who is known for performing many of his own stunts, collided with a surface during an action sequence on September 19, 2025.

Reports confirmed Holland is otherwise in good health and the injury is not life-threatening, though he will rest for a few days “out of an abundance of caution.” Social media quickly filled with messages from fans wishing him a speedy recovery, emphasizing their admiration for his dedication to the role.

What Happened on Set

Filming for the fourth installment of the Spider-Man franchise began in August 2025. During a complex stunt, Holland struck his head, leading to the concussion. Contrary to initial reports that a stunt double was also injured, sources indicate Holland was the only one affected.

Over the weekend, Holland attended a charity event with his fiancée, Zendaya, though he reportedly left early after feeling unwell. This minor disruption has not slowed production significantly, and he is expected to return to set within days.

The Risks of Being Spider-Man

Holland’s injury highlights the physical demands of superhero films. He frequently performs stunts himself, adding authenticity to the action but also increasing the risk of accidents. Concussions, even mild ones, require careful monitoring. Common symptoms include headaches, dizziness, nausea, blurred vision, fatigue, confusion, and memory lapses. Red flags such as repeated vomiting, seizures, or loss of consciousness warrant immediate medical attention.

Medical experts stress that anyone experiencing concussion symptoms should pause physical and cognitive activity, avoid sports, heavy lifting, or screen-intensive tasks, and seek professional evaluation before resuming normal routines.

Holland’s Dedication Shines Through

In a video shared during filming, Holland reflected on the excitement of returning to the Spider-Man suit:

“It’s day one, my fourth ever day one on Spider-Man. It feels different this time, somehow. We’ve got fans on set, familiar faces, and I’m just going to do my best.”

Fans took to social media to express relief and support, praising Holland’s resilience and dedication. Many recalled previous incidents where he sustained injuries for the role, reinforcing admiration for his commitment to authenticity in the films.

Spider-Man: Brand New Day is scheduled for release on July 31, 2026. While this brief setback interrupts filming, it is clear that both Holland and the studio prioritize safety. The actor’s decision to step back temporarily ensures he recovers fully before resuming high-intensity stunts essential to bringing the superhero to life on screen.

For now, fans worldwide are sending well-wishes, eager to see Holland swing back into action safely.
