Actor and TV presenter Aaron Moloisi fulfilled one of his life-long dreams. The star celebrated his 40th birthday in New York City. Aaron shared his excitement on social media in a lengthy post in which he marked the feat.

He said in part; “One of my goals/dreams/plans… yes only one of the many was to hit 40 years in New York City, United States of America… this is a door to many limitless possibilities.”

…and then a rural boy was born 40 years ago today with limited to almost no dreams in a small village of Ga-Dikgale outside Polokwane. Raised by a grandmother “Phefi” with 7 other cousins in a busy household, competition was second nature to us. We competed for attention, love, validation and all round approval of the best “grandchild”. Many years passed as I strived to be the best I was born to be, as I lived by my granny’s words which still echo in my spirit “Ba phale ngwana ngwanaka” :- trans. Rise above the rest. One of my goals/dreams/plans…yes only one of the many was to hit 40 years in New York City, United States of America…this is a door to many limitless possibilities. #RuralBoyInNYC I love you South Africa and I will see you real soon.
