5 Mins With Blue

by Amanda Ndlangisa

You might remember her from Big Brother Mzansi 2015 as the Duchess. Blue, real name Thandi Mbombo, has moved on and moved up from the show to Diski Divas. We chat to the royal chick about Diski Divas and future plans. Blue

How did you join Diski Divas?

I got approached by the producers as soon as I got out of the Big Brother house because of my previous relationship with Onyekachi Okonkwo, who plays for Mpumalanga Black Aces. The funny thing about all of this is that I had never even seen the show before because I was in the house for so long, so I had to first watch an episode before agreeing.

How’s the show been for you so far?

Everything has been amazing – from the cast to the crew, everyone has been very welcoming. I’m loving everything I have done so far. Capture

What do you love most about the show?

The concept; we all know that Diski Divas is about women who’ve either been with soccer players or are with soccer players, so what I love about the show is that they portray the opposite of what society things a WAG (Wives and Girlfriends) does. I love how they show the women at their work places, doing their thing. I love how it’s all about women empowerment.

How’s the reaction from people been like?

Most people have supported me, and its people who have been supporting me from the Big Brother house. I haven’t had a lot of negative comments, except for one person who wrote on Facebook that they didn’t understand why I’m on the show because I didn’t have a relationship with Onyekachi, it was just a one night stand, which is untrue. But, the great support shadows the negative. blue3

What’s next for Blue?

I really can’t say, but there is something in the pipeline. Big Brother opened a lot of doors for me. What I can say is that something is coming!
