The Brave Collective, South Africa’s leading women-led empowerment platform, is proud to announce Nedbank as the official Headline Sponsor of its 2025 flagship event, Fortune Favours the Brave, taking place on 8 August 2025 at The Forum, Bryanston.

Khensani Nobanda, Nedbank’s Group Executive for Marketing and Corporate Affairs, says ‘Partnering with The Brave Collective is a natural extension of our commitment to inclusivity and empowerment, especially in instances where women seek to take charge of their future. The Brave Collective and Nedbank believe in supporting women not only to succeed, but to lead lives of purpose, courage, and meaningful long-term wealth creation. This collaboration marks a significant stride towards financial independence – creating a space for candid conversations around money is vital. This partnership reflects the shared commitment to challenge the status quo, encouraging women to rethink their approaches to finances. At the heart of this event is a powerful intersection of values: building self-worth, net worth, and a network as the foundation for true legacy.’

Taryn Sharman, Founder of The Brave Collective adds, ‘This partnership with Nedbank is an alignment of both minds and missions. It is deeply invested in redefining what’s possible for South African women. In today’s rapidly evolving financial landscape, the need for inclusive platforms that foster economic autonomy has never been more crucial. This strategic partnership aims to inspire and equip women with the tools and knowledge necessary to thrive, both personally and professionally’.

About the Event: Fortune Favours the Brave

Now in its seventh edition, The Brave Collective event gathers 250–300 women from across industries and backgrounds from executives and entrepreneurs to creatives, financiers, and changemakers. It is a space curated for meaningful dialogue and innovative insights on money matters, deep dive conversations and bold exchanges. As societal norms around finances often present challenges, this interactive space fosters honest discussions, enabling women to confront their financial beliefs and aspirations unapologetically. The aim is to dismantle traditional barriers and empower women to take control of their financial futures.

The 2025 programme features two keynote speakers and two powerful themed breakaway sessions designed to shift perspectives and unlock potential.

Keynote Speakers:

  • Lira – “My Stroke of Luck”
The award-winning musician shares her deeply personal journey of resilience after her stroke – and how she rebuilt her voice, purpose, and self-worth from the inside out.
