Dallas Cowboys All-Pro return specialist KaVontae Turpin was arrested Saturday by Allen Police and faces two misdemeanor charges: possession of marijuana (under 2 ounces) and unlawful carrying of a weapon. He was booked into Collin County Jail and released Sunday after posting a $1,500 bond.
According to an incident report cited by TMZ Sports, Turpin was stopped for allegedly driving 97 mph in a 70-mph zone. Police reportedly found a 9mm pistol in plain view and marijuana in the center console.
Turpin, 28, signed a three-year, $18 million extension with the Cowboys in March. He led the NFL in kickoff return average (33.5 yards) last season, including a 99-yard touchdown. He also returned a punt for a score and became the only player in 2023 with touchdowns via kick, punt, and reception. As a receiver, he posted 31 catches for 420 yards and two touchdowns.
