Eagles center Cam Jurgens has signed a four-year contract extension through 2029, the team announced Monday. The deal is worth $68 million and includes $39.4 million guaranteed, according to his agent Ryan Tollner. Jurgens’ $17 million average annual salary ranks second among NFL centers, trailing only the Chiefs’ Creed Humphrey.
A second-round pick out of Nebraska in 2022, Jurgens stepped in this past season following Jason Kelce’s retirement and delivered a strong campaign. He anchored an offensive line that helped Saquon Barkley set a new NFL record for rushing yards in a single season, including playoffs.
Jurgens earned his first Pro Bowl selection after finishing 10th among interior linemen in pass block win rate (95%). Former teammate Kelce celebrated the extension on social media, calling it a “big extension” and noting Jurgens now has the “most guaranteed money for a center.”
Despite battling back pain during the postseason, Jurgens made a key contribution in the Eagles’ run to Super Bowl LIX. After missing the NFC Championship Game against Washington due to injury, he returned mid-game when Landon Dickerson went down. Jurgens then started in the Super Bowl, helping Philadelphia to a dominant 40-22 win over the Chiefs.
He underwent a back procedure in February to alleviate nerve pain. Doctors expect him to make a full recovery by July, in time for training camp.
The Eagles have now extended four offensive linemen in the past year — Lane Johnson, Jordan Mailata, Dickerson, and Jurgens — a clear move to secure continuity on one of the NFL’s most reliable units.
Jurgens, 25, was entering the final year of his rookie contract. With this new deal, he’s now set to remain in Philadelphia through the end of the decade.
