South Africa’s leading athletics runner Caster Semenya seems to be the hardest hit by the IAAF’s new ruling that women athletes who compete in 400m, 800m and 1 500m events having to strongly monitor and adjust their testosterone levels.
This means that female athletes like Caster and India’s Dutee Chand, may have to undergo procedures or take drugs in order to suppress the amount of testosterone in their bodies.

The news was met with massive protest from South Africa, with Sports and Recreation Minister, Tokozile Xasa leading the way. She said:
“We see this as a targeted approach by the IAAF,” she said. “This new initiative comes after [Semenya] broke records at the Commonwealth Games. It is also Africans that are participating in long-distance races, therefore we view it as a target,”
In true Caster fashion, the athlete stood her ground and defended herself with dignity.
