How to make a turmeric face mask

by Bongiwe Tshiqi
getting a chemical peel

Turmeric face masks are all the rage right now and we completely understand why. The turmeric spice is a miracle worker!

It contains anti-inflammatory and anti-bacterial elements that assist with a few things:

  • Brightens skin
  • Tightens pores
  • Helps with any acne or eczema
  • It reduces redness or inflammation
  • Reduces dark circles under your eyes
  • Helps with wrinkles
  • Reduces facial hair

So we thought we’d share an easy recipe for you to use when making your own face mask at home.

Please just note that turmeric will stain everything in your home so be extra careful when using it! Also, perhaps use gloves or a makeup brush when applying it to your face s that it doesn’t stain your hands or nails.

What you need:

  • Bowl
  • Old makeup brush/disposable gloves
  • A teaspoon of turmeric powder
  • A tablespoon of milk
  • And a few drops of honey
  1. Mix all the ingredients together in the bowl until and stir till smooth
  2. Use your brush or put on your gloves and then apply the mask onto your face evenly. Take care not to use it on your eye brows since it helps remove facial hair.
  3. Leave it on for 20-30. DO NOT LEAVE IT ON FOR LONGER OR IT WILL STAIN YOUR FACE
  4. Rinse it off with lukewarm water
  5. Afterwards use your regular face wash to cleanse your face and wash off any remaining turmeric.
  6. Pat your face dry and enjoy your glowing skin.

Use it at least once a week for the best results.
