Girl Talk With Tumi Voster

by Amanda Ndlangisa

Presenter Tumi Voster will be Jetting off to Dubai from 7 – 14 April for an all exclusive girls – only trip to Dubai. We caught up with her before she left to talk all things travel.

tumiWhat is your favourite holiday destination?

Cape Town is still one of my favourite holiday destinations, it feels like you not in SA and you in a totally different place. It’s just breathtaking. God was just showing off there.

You are going to Dubai soon, is it your first time going there? What do you love most about the place?

I have been there before. I love the reach culture and the fashion of course!

What are you most excited about when it comes to the trip?

Spending time with 3 amazing women (LeAnne Dlamini, Shashi Naidoo and Lorinda Voges, my manager and publicist) and I’m also excited about checking out all the latest trends at Fashion Forward Dubai.

What 5 beauty and fashion items can’t you travel without?

  • Sunscreen
  • Lipsticks
  • Powder
  • Pair of heels
  • Pair of jeans

Please give us 3 fashion and beauty tips when attending special events?

  • Keep it simple.
  • Less is more.
  • Always have an outfit that you can dress up or down with a pair of heels or sneakers.

What has been your best and worst traveling experience?

Best experience traveling with my mom to celebrate my 21st birthday.

Worst – I had to change a hotel two days before traveling because of the bad reviews I found online about the one I had already paid for. It was a mission getting the money back.

Can you give us your 5 best traveling tips?

  • Don’t overpack (been trying to get this right for years and I still fail lol)
  • Always pack something warm
  • Roll your clothes to create space in your suitcase
  • Pack sunscreen
  • And always have a pair of shades
