HealthLab brings trusted health information closer to South African women and families

South Africans search for health information every day. We want to know why our energy has changed, whether a symptom is worth worrying about, which foods genuinely support our health and whether the beauty or wellness advice filling our social feeds can be trusted.

Finding an answer is easy. Finding one that is credible, understandable and relevant to our lives is much harder. HealthLab is launching to close that gap.

The new digital platform provides accessible health education created with South African readers in mind. Its content covers women’s health, men’s health, general health guides, fitness, nutrition, mental health and BeautyLab, including subjects such as hormonal health, pregnancy, weight management, strength, skincare and healthy ageing.

HealthLab has also built clinical input into much of its editorial process. When a medical professional has reviewed a piece, their name and credentials appear alongside the latest review or update date and the sources used, making the standard behind the advice visible to the reader.

That transparency allows readers to understand where the information comes from instead of being expected to trust a faceless social-media post or an unsupported wellness claim.

HealthLab also recognises that health is personal. South African women and families encounter different financial realities, food traditions, skin concerns, healthcare barriers and cultural expectations. The platform translates credible medical knowledge into practical information that makes sense within that context.

Readers can explore guidance on building strength as they age, protecting mental well-being, understanding changes in their bodies, preparing for medical appointments and making realistic choices around food, movement and self-care.

BeautyLab extends the same evidence-led approach to skincare and aesthetic health, addressing issues relevant to South African consumers—including the needs of melanin-rich skin—without relying on fads or miracle promises.

The wider platform includes symptom and condition explainers, meal-planning guidance, workouts, recovery information, checklists and resources designed to help readers ask better questions about their health and have more productive conversations with healthcare professionals.

HealthLab does not replace a doctor. It helps South Africans become better informed before they make decisions or seek care.
