South African hip-hop artist Cassper Nyovest shared his opinion on abuse allegations against American rapper Rick Ross, made by model and real estate agent Jazzma Kendrick. His comments sparked an online debate, with X users questioning the star’s credibility to condemn anyone.

Cassper Nyovest condemns Rick Ross
Cassper took to social media on 27 September 2026, to respond to the allegations the international rapper faced. Over the weekend, Jazzma shared photographs of injuries allegedly caused by her boyfriend on her Instagram Story, responding to a fan who sent her a direct message complimenting one of her selfies.
“I’m seeing what Rick Ross is seeing; you’re so gorgeous,” they said. The model then shared the DM on her Story with the text “He saw a punching bag” and followed up with a series of images and a video showcasing a busted lip and bruises on her face. She alleged that the Maybach Music Group founder was the one responsible.
Cassper expressed his stance on his social media, stating that he does not “rock” with men who “beat women.” This sparked an online debate, with many questioning where the Doc Shebeleza hitmaker gets off and bringing up his past.

South Africans question Cassper Nyovest’s stance
The hip-hop artist’s views were questioned, with many bringing up a few other alleged abusers he has associated himself with, including a few of his tweets expressing his support for Chris Brown.

The tweets thus brought into question his credibility in condemning other artists. Many X users highlighted his hypocrisy, labelling him a “part-time activist.”
One X user responded to the South African rapper’s tweet, stating, “Every story got 2 sides.” Cassper pushed back, explaining that there is no good reason to put hands on a woman.
